Martin Schaerer, originally from Switzerland, is an experienced teacher, workshop facilitator and performer. He began teaching and facilitating workshops in 2000 and has since taught both adults and children of all ages in various settings including schools, youth clubs and in his percussion studio in Dingle.
In 2012 Martin successfully completed Music Networks Professional Development Training Programme.
Artistic adviser and lead facilitator of the training programme was composer and leading music facilitator Elaine Agnew.
Martin’s classes are interactive, highly educational and a lot of fun.
Martin trained with teachers likeTomas Ramos “El Panga” Ortiz, Dudu Tucci, Stefan Rigert
among others and has performed with various groups and in different musical genres
over the past 20 years both in Ireland and abroad.
Martin is musical director of Splanc – the Dingle Carnival Band and
Director of Dingle’s Global Rhythm Festival “Cuisle Chorca Dhuibhne”.
